Over time, John has amassed an extraordinary collection of mostly contemporary Aboriginal art. This selection is the first public display from the collection.Throughout the exhibition Lead Curator Dr Maura Reilly has investigated the relationship between the art collection and John’s architectural vision and practice. The work of Aboriginal artists such as Gloria Petyarre, Sally Gabori, Janangoo Butcher Cherel, Terry Ngamandara Wilson and others have helped formulate the tectonics of John’s buildings and their surrounds, helping to give them their distinct shape, scale, texture and warmth.
